Open International Design Competition for Building a Vibrant Center for Design, Science and Education at the Brooklyn Navy Yard
Terreform ONE is proud to announce the jury of ONE PRIZE 2014: Smart Dock, an open international design competition for transforming cities through innovation.
ONE PRIZE is an Annual Design and Science Award to Promote Green Design in Cities. Each year a jury of leaders, academics, practitioners, and scholars from a wide spectrum of human endeavor are invited to select the winner of the ONE PRIZE Award. The jury this year will be chaired by Christian Hubert, principal of Christian Hubert Studio and Chair of Terreform ONE.
This year’s ONE Prize proposes to design a collaborative teaching facility and public outreach center for socio-ecological design within the Brooklyn Navy Yard, for ONE Lab, a new school for design and science.
The “Smart Dock” will include spaces for lectures, events, and design studios for approximately thirty graduate level students. It will function both as a visual reference and spatial matrix for ONE Lab, and as an unique interdisciplinary research laboratory for industrial design, synthetic biology, landscape ecology, art, architecture, and master planning.
ONE Prize is a platform on which creative pioneers can combine both theoretical and practical work that addresses smart design and the redevelopment of industrial and waterfront sites in New York and other cities worldwide.
Early Registration: June 30, 2014. Registration and Submission: August 31, 2014.
